Surroundings

I try to be a quick learner, but it is seemingly taking me a while to grasp onto photo editing.  Reading about the different programs in Adobe was helpful.  We will mainly be using Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge for the class; so quite obviously it is important to understand what each program does.  Very obviously Adobe Bridge is a 'bridge', it is an easy way to link work between Adobe's many 'creative suite' programs.  It means that one can easily move through their work digitally, going onto other programs like Flash and Dreamweaver as well.  However the program is limited to files that can be directly accessed from your computer, meaning if they are on a usb drive or disc the drive must be connected.  Lightroom can do the opposite.  This program allows the user to 'import' an image and work on the program with out having the image physically copied or moved onto your computer. The program also was built by photographers for photographers and is focused on the digital needs of a photographer.  It takes away the complexity in Bridge and focuses on critical photographic elements.
